The heart of the game is based on a brilliant worker placement mechanic that's a new departure for the genre. Unlike classic games, where any action you take is blocked, in Coal Baron nothing is ever really out of reach! Do you want an action that your opponent has already chosen? It's possible... but it will cost you an extra worker. This diabolical rule creates constant tension: should you rush for the free actions or sacrifice your precious miners to steal the limelight from a competitor?
